Finally the deed’s done and after nearly 3 weeks, the kitchen is finally ‘open for operation’. A few more minor touches such as the gas pipe linkage to the stove and we’re done. This would be completed by 29th August as agreed.

I was apprehensive about the whole renovation as this extra expenditure was not included in my 2008 budget and cross my fingers that Daddy has no more ‘family project’ where I’m compelled to chip in. I can’t say much as the bulk of the bill goes to him. My contribution would only be the purchase of the stove, water pipes, sink but I’m giving Mummy some extra $$ each month to compensate. I’ve been trying to save nowadays and I have my own personal target to achieve by year end. From the looks of it, yeah I think I’m on track still although there are some major expenditure planned till year end.

I still need to consider -
Zakat for Raya
Batam trip with friends
Birthdays [Zali, Remy, Yan, Mummy, Akak...these people will get something from me this year]
Bangkok trip [slated for January with Noi]
New DSLR [?] - might not happen unless 50D comes out and 40D goes dirt cheap

But all is still not lost cos I will get extra income from
-freelance shoots [2 already confirmed]
-Govt GST bonus

Oh, yeah kudos to Alvin Tee from A&D Design for their excellent work. Yeah we did reach a slight rough patch when my tiles start to drop and break, the extra costs was so not within the budget but Daddy told me the amount of details put in to rectify the mishap was worth it. So, truce. And they did deliver within time frame and still after the extra cost, much cheaper than other renovation contractors quotes.

First Reno company we went to enquire is Hamid & Sons and this guy Farid was supposed to come and recee the kitchen but apparently he can only come during office hours. Ermm isn’t that time not convenient for clients and he took nearly 2 weeks to get back to me with the same results. Apparently he did not get the idea that I’m not free on weekdays, after working hours was not good for him too so I decided to forgo this company.

Second was a recommendation from Daddy’s colleague but on the day he wassupposed to come, he did not turn up and when we called him, he told Akak that he’s in Johor. Totally unprofessional, you could have informed your potential clients beforehand if you either will be late or change of appointment time. Tsk, tsk a no-no for me.

Classic design was too expensive and the price kept increasing so sorry had to let them go but Kelvin, the Asst Manager did sms me to give me nearly SGD 800 discount!! Hmm should have told us earlier but still there could have been misc charges not yet included.

Last was A&D, recommended by Yan who had her kitchen done up by them too. Knowing how thorough she has gone with her search for the best contractor, I decided to sign up with them. And now I’m the proud owner of a new urban chic yet back to basic kitchen..

I was thinking, perhaps it was time to finally gather some moolah for the shoots I’ve been doing. Yeah as immortal as I might perceive who I am, I’m only human and the lure of monetary rewards seems too good to pass on. Been discussing some business startup plans with Kisha, Yan, Razy and Zali, respectively and everyone is eager to start our own business. I was pf course skeptical of how this would turn out to be I rather try it out than take a back seat.

Razy is great in his designs although personally I’m not too agreeable with his business concept. Kisha is excellent too in his make-up techniques and I do believe he can be better, given more opportunities to excel. Yan has years of experience under Sriwana, she can doll herself up in mere minutes while not compromising details and Zali has the expertise of a videographer, well it is his day job after all. Me, yeah I’m still quite new at this, my works are more of trial and error, no formal classes etc. So I do need to work more on this photography, my work’s kind of falls on the amatuerish side still.. am I being too modest? HeHe

I created another multiply account which I’m vamping it up to be a platform for those interested to engage me for shoots be it for engagements, birthdays, makeovers, reunions, anniversary or just for the heck of it. Possibilities endless and my charges are minimal of course. Having said that, I’m still doing favours for friends as well such as for Razy and his own Costume D’Amour.

Yesterday could have been better.
Yesterday I had my last shoot before Ramadhan.
It was a self financed shoot [i.e no sponsors!!], it could have turned out to be a fabulous shoot but..

IT HAD TO RAIN so we were confined to the basement carpark and void deck and the corridor, limiting my creactivity. Sha could not make it earlier, no point too as Razy could only deliver the clothes by 2pm or so…he reached by 230pm!! Thus we had to postponed the Audrey Hepburn shoot to a later date then. I had engagement at 4pm, so does Yan. Since Yan had to be at Tapac for Sriwana, might as well I made a date to KTV with my siblings at 4pm too. Since Razy was late we could only wear the ‘Twiggy Airlines Costume’ as it’s company owned; we had to return them soon. The Audrey Hepburn are his personal collection so that could wait.

When we reached Tapac at 425pm, not our fault..CTE was jammed cos stoopid motorist so k-PO slowed down to watch an accident near the exit to PIE..grrr!!! Typical!! I had time to burn cos Akak was late so our appointment was changed to 5pm then, so I lepak @ Tapac. The kids were getting ready to go to TAKA for a show..means no tarian class for Yan. Hmm if only we knew, we could have continued with the shoot..

Anyway all was not lost, we had fun, as usual. Sha was great too, game for anything. Thanks Yan for the time too, I knew she had a lot of explaining to do..HeHe..rahsia kiter berdua ya..**wink**wink**

SmallTalk: Entry nie gurauan semata occay!!!

Saper dah baca akak nyer entry..sila click sini..dia very excited pasal purse baru Agnes B yang disponsor oleh Noi. Airflown lagi kan, tapi dia LUPA. YES dia LUPA, biasalah org kalau dah over the age of 30 nie kadang2 memory diorang lemah sikit..[ha! sentap la tu..HAHAHA] bahawasenya…I lah yang pakai Agnes B dulu OK!!

During one of my trips to HongKong, masa tu I jadi official photographer for ANTM..[berangan tak sudah!!], I bought for myself a BAG. Not any bag but Agnes B Voyage ok people!! It comes with a small pouch lagi, ada mini lock too. Wah!! Best nyer…and…I had to stuff the bag with my pillow for the shoot cos nanti nampak flimsy pulak kan…HaHaHa.. Genap setahun dah bag tu..vintage ka??

Anyway apasal I don’t have any gifts, NOI? Hello, tak nak pinjam my camera lagi eh? Haros kan kena gentle warnings baru nak bergerak org2 nie semua. I’m going out for a shoot now..so people be good k!!

So it’s more of an impromptu lunch to celebrate Char’s departure. There was a eerie rumour that she’s poached to go to a competitor but she has yet to make any decisions about it. Yes, she was approached but that was after she had tendered. It was more of a convenience thingy but well some people were ’shocked’ and rumours start to o around. Poor Char, her last few days in misery so I gathered some people for lunch out at Swensens @ Holland Village!!

2 cars, William’s and Wan Seng’s!! Me, Haj, Wan Seng & Azhar in one and Ka Man, William & Arthur in another..Woo Hoo..we had set meals each and I tried the Rib Eye!! First for me, ordered medium rare, not bad, not bad at all. The best thing is, this lunch is sponsored by company..HeHe using our personal recreation fund!!

The guilty peeps who had a 2 and a half hour lunch!! Opss..
